What does Broeders IT do?
We solve technology problems so you can focus on your business. We do that through IT consultancy, custom software, websites and e-commerce, and managed hosting: from advice to building and running your systems. Read more in our overview of services.
How do we get started?
Send us a message via our contact page or email hello@broeders-it.com. We start with an introduction, in which we listen to your situation, your goals and the constraints you’re working within. If it’s a good fit, you then receive a clear proposal with the approach, timeline and price.
What technology do you work with?
Whatever fits your problem best. We keep a close eye on new developments, but we never choose something just because it’s new or popular. Technology should work for people, not the other way around.
Where is Broeders IT based?
In Noordwijk, the Netherlands, at Van Panhuysstraat 16. We’re registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KVK) under number 97596078. You’ll find all our details on our contact page.
Why choose Broeders IT?
Because you work directly with the people doing the work, with no account managers in between. You get honest advice instead of a sales pitch, and pragmatic solutions instead of over-engineering. And we share what we know, so you can carry on independently rather than depend on us. Read more about us and what we stand for.
Will you tell me if something is a bad idea?
Yes. If something won’t work, you’ll hear it from us, even when it’s not what you hoped to hear. No sugarcoating, no surprises. We only recommend technology that actually solves your problem.
Working together and pricing
What working together looks like, how we arrive at a price and which terms apply.
See how we workWhat does it cost to work with you?
That depends on the type of engagement. We use three pricing models:
Fixed price for projects: after the analysis, you receive a quote with the scope, timeline and price.
Time-based for consultancy and embedded roles: by the hour or by the day.
Monthly fee for managed hosting and ongoing support: set out in a service agreement.
We don’t list amounts on our website: every engagement is different. Read more about how we work and our pricing models.
What’s in a quote, and how long is it valid?
A quote sets out the scope, approach, timeline and price, so you know exactly where you stand. It’s valid for 30 days unless it states otherwise. The project starts once you accept the quote in writing or sign a project agreement.
When do I pay?
Invoices are due within 30 days of the invoice date, unless we agree otherwise. For larger projects, we can invoice in instalments, so you don’t pay everything in one go.
What if my requirements change during the project?
That happens, and we adapt. If the agreed scope changes, that may affect the timeline and the costs. We talk openly with you about what a change means, so there are no surprises afterwards.
Can I end an engagement early?
Yes. Either of us can end a project with 30 days’ written notice. You pay for the work completed up to the termination date, and you receive everything that’s finished by then.
What does working together look like?
It takes four steps:
Introduction: we listen to your situation, goals and constraints.
Analysis & proposal: you receive a clear quote with the scope, approach, timeline and price.
Delivery: you work directly with the people doing the work, with regular check-ins and early demos.
Handover & aftercare: documentation, training and support after launch, so you can carry on independently.
Each step is explained on our page about how we work.
Will you keep my information confidential?
Yes. We treat all client information as confidential and don’t share anything with third parties without your consent, unless the law requires us to.
Which terms apply?
Our terms of service apply to all our services. They cover quotes, payment, ownership, confidentiality and liability, among other things. Dutch law applies, and disputes go to the competent court in The Hague.
Questions about IT consultancy
About advice that works in practice, joining your team and continuous improvement.
More about IT consultancyWhen should you bring in an IT consultant?
When your data, tools or processes get in your way more than they help. Think of systems that don’t connect, data that doesn’t give you answers, or an IT project that needs someone to keep it on track. We bring clarity, turn options into clear decisions and make sure the work actually gets done.
How do you charge for consultancy?
On a time basis: by the hour or by the day. So you pay for the time we actually spend on your work. You can read about our other pricing models on our page about how we work.
Won’t I become dependent on you?
No, quite the opposite. We take on the technical heavy lifting while transferring knowledge to your team. That way you build your own capability, and your systems and processes keep improving long after we’ve stepped back.
Can you work as part of our team?
Yes. We join your team, for example as a programme manager, data analyst or IT coordinator. Because we know the context, there’s no need for lengthy briefings, and we can move fast when opportunities arise.
What does a consultancy engagement look like?
It runs in three phases:
Assess: we map out your data, tools, workflows and bottlenecks, and talk to the people doing the work.
Embed: we work alongside your people and make sure plans actually get carried out.
Optimise: we keep improving based on real results, not assumptions.
What do I get from the assessment?
A clear picture of what’s working, what isn’t and what to prioritise. Among other things, we look at your data infrastructure, your tools, your team’s workflows, how decisions get made and where the quick wins are. You get honest recommendations, not a sales pitch.
How do we know it’s working?
We track the metrics that actually matter to your business and review them with you regularly. What works, we keep; what doesn’t add value, we change. That way you steer by real results rather than assumptions.
Questions about custom software
About software that fits the way your business works: from first discovery to after delivery.
More about custom softwareHow much does custom software cost?
It depends on what the software needs to do, which is why we start with the Discover phase: we map out your goals, requirements and technical situation. You then get a roadmap with a defined scope, a realistic timeline and transparent pricing. The build itself is done for a fixed price, as set out in the quote.
Who owns the software you build?
You do. Once you’ve paid in full, you own all custom code and deliverables created specifically for your project. Third-party components remain subject to their own licences, and we may keep using general techniques and know-how in other work. It’s all set out in our terms of service.
Why custom software rather than an off-the-shelf package?
Off-the-shelf software makes you adapt the way you work to the package. Custom software works the other way around: it’s built around how your business actually works. That said, custom isn’t always the answer. If an existing package suits you fine, we’ll tell you honestly.
How will you keep me informed during the build?
You talk directly to the people building it, with no account manager in between. Regular check-ins and demos of what already works let you see progress early and often. And when your priorities shift, we adapt quickly.
What kind of software do you build?
Software that fits the way your business works. Think of ERP systems that support your business processes, BI environments that turn your data into insight, and machine learning solutions. Not sure whether your idea fits? Feel free to run it past us via our contact page.
How do you ensure quality?
We build quality in from day one. Every feature is tested and reviewed before we move on, because fixing an issue early costs a fraction of fixing it later. Before go-live, we thoroughly test all critical paths.
What happens after delivery?
We make sure the handover is smooth, with documentation that actually makes sense and training for your team. After go-live, you can still come to us with questions and issues. Want us to host and run the application too? That’s what our managed hosting is for.
Questions about websites and e-commerce
About designing, building and launching a website or online shop that works.
More about websites and e-commerceHow much does it cost to have a website or online shop built?
That depends on what your website or online shop needs to do. A company website calls for something different from a shop with payments and inventory management. So we first map out your goals and requirements. You then receive a quote with a fixed price, a clear scope and a timeline, so you know where you stand before we start.
Will I see the design before you start building?
Yes. We first create wireframes and visual mock-ups that show how your website will look and work, before a single line of code is written. Every design choice is tied to a goal, such as more enquiries or sales, more clarity or a stronger brand. So you know exactly what you’re getting.
Can I update the content myself after launch?
Yes. We show you how to manage your own text, images and other content, so you don’t need us for every small change.
Will my website be easy to find on Google?
We build for search from day one: fast load times, clean code and SEO best practices are baked in, not bolted on later. Nobody can honestly promise you a top spot on Google, so we won’t either.
Will my website work well on mobile?
Yes. We design mobile-first and build responsively, so your website works well on any screen. Before launch, we test across devices and browsers.
Can you build an online shop with payments and shipping?
Yes. We integrate payment systems, inventory management and shipping calculators, so your customers get a smooth checkout and you get a back office that makes sense.
What do you take care of at launch?
The technical side: deployment, DNS settings, the SSL certificate and proper redirects, so existing links keep working. Beforehand, we run through a thorough checklist, including cross-browser and mobile testing, form testing and analytics set-up. After launch, we keep an eye on performance.
Can you host and maintain my website too?
Yes, with managed hosting. We take care of hosting, monitoring, backups, security updates and support, with a guaranteed uptime of 99.5% per month. It’s all set out in a service agreement, for a monthly fee. Read more about managed hosting.
Questions about managed hosting
About uptime, backups, security, support and what happens to your data.
More about managed hostingWhat does managed hosting include?
Application hosting, database management, storage, continuous monitoring and technical support. The exact services and resources, and the monthly fee, are set out in a service agreement tailored to your situation.
What uptime do you guarantee?
We guarantee 99.5% uptime per calendar month. Scheduled maintenance (announced by email at least 48 hours in advance), force majeure, and issues caused by your own actions or by third-party services we don’t manage are excluded. If we fall short of 99.5%, you receive service credits on your next invoice: 10% of the monthly fee for uptime between 99.0 and 99.4%, 25% between 98.0 and 98.9% and 50% below 98.0%. Credits must be requested within 30 days of the month concerned. The full terms are in our terms of service.
How quickly do you respond to support requests?
Within 24 hours on business days (Monday to Friday, excluding Dutch public holidays). Critical issues that affect availability get priority and are addressed as quickly as possible. Support is provided by email, at hello@broeders-it.com. The response time refers to our first response; how long a fix takes depends on the issue.
What about backups?
We make automated daily backups of all your hosted applications and databases and keep them for 30 days, in a geographically separate location. If data is lost, we restore the most recent backup at no extra cost. Have specific backup requirements? We’ll discuss them during onboarding.
How do you secure my application and data?
With industry-standard measures: encrypted connections (TLS), encryption at rest where applicable, regular security patches and updates, firewalls and network security controls, and access logging and monitoring. If a security incident affects your data, we notify you promptly. You remain responsible for the security of your own application code and user credentials.
Who owns my data, and what about GDPR?
Your data always remains yours. We act as a processor on your behalf, not as the owner, and only process your data as far as needed to provide the hosting. We comply with the GDPR and Dutch privacy rules, and you can request a full export of your data at any time.
Can I cancel, and what happens to my data?
Yes. Either of us can terminate managed hosting with 30 days’ written notice. You receive a complete export of all your data in standard formats. We then keep your data for 30 days so you can retrieve everything, after which we delete it securely and permanently. Any fees you prepaid for the period after termination are refunded.
What if my application needs more capacity?
Your resources, such as compute, storage and bandwidth, are set out in your service agreement. We monitor usage and let you know in good time when you’re approaching a limit. Temporary traffic spikes within reasonable bounds are handled at no extra cost. If you need more on a lasting basis, we’ll discuss the options for scaling up together. We accommodate reasonable requests, although this may change the fee.
Still have a question? Just ask.
You’ll get an answer from the people who do the work: honest, free of jargon and without a sales pitch.
